imagination is always knocking
imagination:
take what’s right in front of you. a color, a pattern, sparkles on the dew, bird song in the distance, a conversation you overhear but don’t understand. add awe and wonder. create space where you aren’t thinking about the grocery list or the dinner to make or the next deadline. put down the anxiety. allow yourself to sink luxuriously into the space you’ve created and let yourself stay and play awhile.
how do the colors move? how does the texture transform? what creatures join in the bird song and where does it want to go next? mix and stir, have patience in the movement and stillness both. then, see what new creation wants to be born, what next form is emerging, what idea you have that you’ve never had before.
can you imagine the space between now and when all of your dreams come true? can you imagine the next garden, the deer wandering through, the soft breeze at sunset, the laughter around the dinner table?
imagination is always knocking, if only you’ll let it it.
what do you see when you daydream?
who are you with?
what are you doing?
what does it feel like?
is there safety, is there love, is there belonging? for whom?
as this paradigm of false peace crashes down and breaks down into necessary conflict, who are you deciding to become? do you care?
can we imagine our way into more Goodness?
